Dogwood

Cornus racemosa, Grey Dogwood I planted this as a tiny rooted twig about 3 years ago. It was eaten down by a cottontail rabbit the first year but survived and managed to grow. It is a native shrub that grows plentifully around here and has white berries.

The grey dogwood is sending out suckers. Perhaps when they are dormant I can transplant them.

Blooming for me for the first time ever.
Future bird berries!

  1. My gray dogwood (C. racemosa) is taking a long time to put on any size (it will get huge, especially with the suckering spread ... hope you have room there). But mine has lovely fall foliage here in New England. No flowers or berries yet, tho, and I planted it 5 years ago. Maybe it's just a slow grower?
