Nasturtium

Nasturtium Fordhook Favorites Mix .

My grandfather used to call these plants "Nasty Urchins" just to be funny.

I planted these in April and despite it being very dry out with no irrigation, they finally managed to sprout when it did rain. This is supposed to be a trailing mix of nasturtiums that is attractive to hummingbirds.
Nasturtium flowers, leaves, and seeds are edible and have a peppery taste. I hope to experiment cooking with this plant and with seed saving.

Nasturtiums are doing fine, though they need to be weeded.
